Florence and Fiesole with a chauffeur
Duomo, Uffizi, Piazzale Michelangelo and Fiesole: how to plan a day in Florence with a chauffeur and what to book beforehand.
Florence
The Piazza del Duomo complex includes the cathedral, Brunelleschi's dome, Giotto's bell tower, the Baptistery, the Opera Museum and the Santa Reparata crypt; climbing the dome requires a timed booking. The Uffizi are closed on Mondays, 1 January and 25 December and have a step-free ramp entrance. Piazzale Michelangelo is a panoramic terrace over the city and pairs with San Miniato al Monte.
Fiesole
On the hill above Florence, Fiesole has the archaeological area with a Roman theatre, baths and an Etruscan-Roman temple, and the civic museum with the Costantini Collection and Etruscan bronzes. Hours change by season, with reduced hours and one closing day in winter: see the official calendar.
With a chauffeur
Florence's centre has a ZTL with cameras: according to a trade guide taxis and NCC vehicles have access; we very often have special permits for ZTLs and we confirm access and the drop-off point in the quote. The Duomo, the Uffizi and Piazza della Signoria are close together and visited on foot. We help you book tickets and the dome on the official channels; the dome climb has 463 steps and no lift, and the Duomo requires covered shoulders and knees.
